Last week, I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Kraig Conrad of NCMA at "What Association Leaders Need to Know About AI." We discussed our different approaches to experimenting with and implementing AI, followed by insightful comments from designDATA’s AI expert Greg Starling. I came away with two thoughts:
I was affirmed in Staffing Advisors' ethical approach to AI: always keeping a human in the loop, never relying on AI to make crucial decisions, and trying small things to see what works for our team. We plan to continue on this path and share as we learn from others.
We all have more questions than answers. The audience asked about choosing AI tools, potential use cases for nonprofits, transparency with members and staff, and the level of technology system maturity needed before working with AI. The discussion left me wanting more time to explore and more time to learn from other people’s experiences.
In that spirit, I'd like to learn from you. I invite you to share your thoughts on AI and its impact on your job, your organization, or someone you know. If you're interested, click the survey below (the survey includes example tools and uses cases). As always, our goal is to help you navigate changes in the workplace as they are happening, and AI is already reshaping jobs in unexpected ways.
AI Competency Is a Necessity for Nonprofit and Association Leaders
The increasing availability of generative AI presents unique opportunities to enhance service delivery for organizations entrusted with creating positive change and bettering their communities to the greatest extent possible with the resources they steward. But the question remains, "Where do we start?" Start here.
It can be tempting to choose a favorite candidate early on, hoping the (very) limited data from resumes or initial interviews will translate into job success. But here’s what we see in searches at every career level: it’s often a different—and maybe surprising—candidate who secures the offer. The track from first impressions to the final hiring decision isn’t a straight shot.
We are proud to have partnered with the National Contract Management Association in the selection of their newly appointed Chief Operations Officer, Scott Pearl. With 20,000 members, NCMA propels the growth, advancement, and impact of contract management practitioners through a steadfast commitment to serve through the open exchange of ideas in neutral forums. Join us in congratulating NCMA and Scott!
